Brescia, Italy

Galleria Massimo Mini presents The House Project created by Roger Ballen in collaboration with Italian curator Didi Bozzini. The exhibition is set up in the spaces of Inlimbo Arte, an independent curatorial team, based at Palazzo Mondini in Brescia. Starting from the metaphor of the mind as a House, Roger Ballen organizes images that follow one another, regardless of their dating, according to associations of the images, from darkness to light, from the basement to the attic.

This exhibition treats photography as psychology, not documentation. By structuring mapquest driving directions images like rooms of the mind, Roger Ballen forces viewers into an internal journey—uncomfortable, nonlinear, and deliberate. It’s curatorial storytelling, not chronology, and that’s exactly why it works.

In Slither io, I accidentally scared a tiny worm so hard that it boosted nonstop until it shrank enough to die from hitting the border.
